Chris worked with Marc Doyle in 2007 while studying at Wintec in Hamilton. The knowledge and experience Marc shared were invaluable. After qualifying, Chris contracted and managed an arboricultural team in England for two years—the exposure to large, technical jobs built on his experience even further.
When he returned to New Zealand in 2009, he bought the business from Marc. Since owning the business, Chris has enjoyed the transition from arborist on the tools to working and growing a business and team of talented individuals. In addition, Chris enjoys making things with his hands, drawing, and skiing in his spare time.
Daniel Lubben
Operations Manager
Level 4 Certificate in Arboriculture
Dan worked for Marc Doyle Treework in 2010 while studying for his Level 4 certificate. He then moved to Tauranga, where he worked at Arborcare for six years. Dan was doing a full range of work, from reductions to removal and pruning.
In 2017, Dan took on a management position at Marc Doyle. He enjoys the team atmosphere at work. Also, he likes fly fishing in his spare time and working on his house during his time off.
Kyle Hallett
Sales & Client Relationships and Arborist Team Leader
Level 4 Certificate in Arboriculture
Kyle started his journey with Marc Doyle Tree work in May 2021. With over ten years of experience, he has a vast range of skills and knowledge in the arboriculture industry. Kyle was ready for a change and decided to join the business as the values aligned with his, and he enjoys the work style. In addition, Kyle likes spending time with his family and friends and going to the beach.

Craig Lamb
Arborist Team Leader & Apprentice Trainer
Diploma in Arboriculture (Level 6)
Craig has been a part of the Marc Doyle Treework team for two years. He brings a lot of knowledge and experience to the business. In addition, Craig is a great mentor as he has six years of training experience with Wintec and Primary ITO. He is part of the NZArb tree climbing committee and is a climbing competition facilitator.
He chose to be part of our crew because of the friendly team and the variety of work. Having apprentices working at Marc Doyle also allows him more opportunities to train. In addition, Craig loves spending time with his family, reading and learning about trees.
Jesse Eckert
Arborist Team Leader
Level 4 Certificate in Arboriculture
Jesse qualified as an arborist in 2017 at Otago Polytechnic. Since then, he has worked for many arborist companies in Dunedin and Nelson before redirecting to farm development in infrastructure. In July 2021, he joined the Marc Doyle Treework team.
He appreciates the team culture and friendly team. Outside of work, Jesse enjoys rock climbing, surfing and mountain biking.
Michael Gilmer
Business Development & Arborist Team Leader
Level 4 Certificate in Arboriculture

Mike started recently working with Marc Doyle Treework in November 2021. He has over 25 years of experience in the industry. It all started when Mike was pruning in a winery and saw arborists working in the distance. At that moment, he knew he wanted to become one.
The team culture is what made him decide to work for the company. In his spare time, Mike loves biking.
Jeremiah Shannon
Apprentice Arborist
Level 4 Certificate in Arboriculture (in progress)
Jerry is currently completing his level 4 certificate in arboriculture. He has been with us since August 2020. Jerry started his apprenticeship in arboriculture because he wanted a manual job with a variety and working in nature. As he is learning new skills, he enjoys getting up in the trees more and more.
In addition, Jerry likes playing soccer and rugby league and spending time with his family and friends in his spare time.

John Love
Apprentice Arborist
Level 3 Certificate in Arboriculture (in progress)
"It is what it is."
John started as a landscape labourer in October 2021. He has nine years of experience driving forklifts. He joined our team because he wanted a new challenge, to learn more practical skills, and be part of nature. In September 2022, John started training to become an arborist! We are so happy to see him grow into this new career path.
John enjoys working with the team and how every day is different. During his time off, his favourite activities are paddle boarding, hiking, and biking.
Craig Scott
Arborist Apprentice

Craig is currently completing his level 4 certificate in arboriculture. He has been with Marc Doyle Treework since January 2022. Craig shifted his career path from cave tour guide to arborist. He chose to join the team to start his new career as a friend recommended the business to him, and he also knew he would get excellent training from the team.
Since his start, he has loved the varied tree work as he gets to learn and apply his problem-solving skills constantly. Furthermore, he really enjoys the team culture.

Kaha Bluegum
Arborist
Level 4 Certificate in Arboriculture
Kaha joined the Marc Doyle Treework team in July 2022 to seek new opportunities and gain more experience. He completed his arboricultural studies at Wintect in 2021.
Kaha really enjoys working in and around trees and has acquired much more skills working as an arborist. In addition, he loves working with the Marc Doyle Treework team. They are a “good bunch of people”.
